welcome to the calm before the storm.
My name’s Gabriel. I’m a writer & photographer from New Jersey.
Truth be told, I was hooked on the adrenaline rush of the live music & entertainment industry from the night I shot my first show (Mac Miller on the GO:OD AM tour) way back in 2015. Since then, it’s been a rollercoaster journey across every type of event, from the raw energy of punk-rock basement shows to the technicolor dazzle of massive reggaeton arena concerts. There really isn’t anything else like the thrill of being so close to the action, and I’d be lying if I said the relentless pursuit of all-access media passes hasn’t led me toward some of the wildest and most unbelievable experiences of my life.
But there’s a world outside those sold-out tour dates, and the big name music festivals, and all those oh-so-perfect posts we all scroll past on Instagram. Over the years, I’ve taken a lot of photos. I've written a lot of articles. And maybe most importantly, I’ve met a lot of incredible people. I can say with certainty: There’s a lot going on behind the scenes. For every overnight success with millions of fans, there are tens of thousands of emerging artists, hometown heroes, and entrepreneurs working from the ground up to build their own impactful businesses, labels, and organizations.
I could wax poetic on the common thread between these disparate individuals, but what really joins them together, for now, is that they inspire me, and they’re doing their best to inspire other people as well through the work they do, and the unique ambitions they’re pursuing.
